En medio de un gran resguardo policial, el expresidente de la FPF Manuel Burga dejó las instalaciones de Requisitorias –donde permanecía retenido desde el viernes– y fue llevado a la sede del Poder Judicial, donde un juez decidirá su futuro inmediato.

Manuel Burga fue detenido el día viernes sobre la base de un pedido de la justicia estadounidense, que lo acusa y pide su extradición, junto a otros 15 dirigentes latinoamericanos, de estar involucrado en diversos actos de corrupción en la FIFA.

Por tal motivo, Manuel Burga comparecerá hoy ante el Sétimo Juzgado de Lima, que decidirá si afronta el proceso de extradición con prisión preventiva o arresto domiciliario.

Entre los cargos que se le acusa al expresidente de la FPF se encuentra la ‘conspiración de fraude electrónico en la organización de la Copa Centenario’ y “conspiración de lavado de dinero en la organización de la Copa Libertadores”.

La justicia norteamericana tiene 60 días para presentar el cuaderno de extradición a la justicia peruana, que determinará finalmente si procede o no la extradición de Burga para que siga el proceso en su contra en los Estados Unidos.
